Pleasant Hill Winery

Tonight I attended a triple retirement party at Pleasant Hill Winery! I was excited because I had never been there before. The vineyard is gorgeous!

And the wine is delicious! The chardonnay was yum.

My favorite occurrence of the evening was that Mike showed up wearing an outfit that matched the picnic tables EXACTLY. His shirt matched the tabletop, and his pants matched the benches! Camouflage!!

A visit from Suzanne and Nate

Suzanne and Nate came to Athens this weekend!! Their first trip without baby Sadie. We didn't take very many photos, we were too busy having fun! Friday night we went to O'Betty's for dinner.

Carl and Carol cook Chinese

Carl and Carol are visiting Mom and Dad from China! They offered to cook traditional Chinese food for dinner, and Ben and I were lucky enough to be invited! They started things off with a greens soup with egg.

These chicken wings with vegetables were SPICY!!! Spicy delicious!

Carl and Carol cooking!

Dad helped stir!

They also made fried rice, and a steamed egg dish with tofu and Chinese mushrooms (that they brought over dehydrated from China and were MY FAVORITE!!!).

Fried rice!

Dessert was boiled red beans with sugar and orange peel.

What a special treat! It was really fun getting to know Carl and Carol.

Happy Father's Day!

The family got together at Mom and Dad's house tonight to celebrate Father's Day! Mom made delicious Chicken Marbella. I brought macaroons (unpictured)!

It turned into a Unicorn Pegasus bonanza! Please note the gold embellished details, which were Little Kate's idea:

Fruity Cooking Club

Nancy hosted cooking club at her pool this afternoon, and the theme was fruit! Summer made Governor's Mansion Peach Sweet Tea Punch (with bourbon).

Yumi made a couscous salad with pine nuts, pomegranates and fresh herbs. Her couscous was the fluffiest I've ever had!

Nancy made strawberry avocado salsa.

Emily brought some fresh cherries she'd gotten at the market that morning.

I made crostini with goat cheese, fresh peaches and basil.

Feast!

Summer made a tomato pie!

Nancy's second round of avocadoness was baked avocados with cheese! They were melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Valerie made lemon cheesecake mousse!

Miss Charlotte enjoyed everything!

We ALL loved that mousse.

After our feast, we played euchre!

What a dreamy day!

Nelsonville Music Festival

This year marks my first time attending the Nelsonville Music Festival! After years of hearing everyone talk about how much fun it is. I went out Saturday afternoon with Mom, and back out again today. There were storms off and on throughout the weekend, but there was also plenty of sun.

This afternoon, I was excited to see Kiss the Viper's Fang (David Bowie tribute with Marco Benevento and Superhuman Happiness). Mom and I managed to duck under the roof of the press tent porch as the rain poured down. We watched the first few songs from there, peeking through the tie-dye booth! It was a great location!

The rain cleared up and I headed back out. I ran into Melissa and her family! Blast from the past!

Vana and Skye were there too!

Really bizarre weather.

The sun came back in full effect for Randy Newman! I met up with Summer for this one.
